You say that like I make a hobby out of shedding body parts!
No, but collapsing structures do. Burning buildings just do wonders for cauterizing the wounds.
... You know, I probably shouldn't have to tell you this, but I could really, really use your help right now. Or anyone's. I'm actually not texting to have a funny chat about dismemberment and how to die in a fire
I'm not sure if that would work... the undead where I'm from are pretty flammable. They'd also probably be just as likely to dismember you as the fire!
I've never tried putting out a fire like this before, and it sounds like a big one if it can rip your legs off.
It might be easier to wait for the building to finish disintegrating!
[There's a bit of a pause before the next message- the creaking and crashing of bits of ceiling and wall giving way probably covers up anything like the sound of footsteps.
If Otonashi listens close, he might be able to pick up something that kind of sounds like laughter closing in.
And then, all at once:]
Hey-o, Yuzuru! [Yeah he just kind of pops out from what was left of a doorway, coughing and staggering, but still cheerful enough.] Was starting to wonder if you'd hobbled out on your own... that would've been funny, wouldn't it?
[ The sight of an ablaze Henry might have startled him in the past, but the nonchalant laughter coupled with the flickering flame worked a harmony of stark contrast.
A harmony unique to Henry.
Lips too chapped and cracked to do little more than bleed, and a throat too seared and hoarse to produce speech, he etches out a remarkably unperturbed: ]
'-Hey.'
[ Immediately followed by another short message, humorless in tone: ]
'OK.. you don't know you're on fire, do you ?? now is kinda a bad time for your hilarity'
Huh? Oh yeah, I guess so. Had to ditch my cape a few rooms back.
[On fire or otherwise, Henry still goes in to try to drag Otonashi up, and it's an awkward mix of both trying to be gentle and trying to be effective. Even if he was taller, it didn't make him any stronger, and with legs attached or otherwise, carrying Otonashi wasn't the easiest thing he'd ever tried to do.]
My back's gonna be delicious by the time we're out! Other parts of me too, probably....
[His throat was starting to hurt, which was- well, not a bad sign, but a sign nonetheless. His next laugh would put a crow to shame when it comes to successful raspyness.]
so positive!
I'd love to hear what you have to say when I tell you the legs are mine.
Really, lay it on me, I could use the comfort of the familiar.

But what's the occasion for leg-removal this time? Last I checked, burning
alivedead didn't trigger spontaneous limb-ejection.no subject

just so we're clear.

And I'm on my way! Hang onto those legs- or not, I'm not sure if I can carry out a fully-legged Yuzuru.
Actually maybe you could drop an arm too

is that a joke??

Totally serious either way, though! Better think quick about which piece you're least attached to!
'Cause you might end up not attached to it at all

you can't just, I don't know, maybe put out the fire? or is that just too easy and your magic won't work without blood.
it can rain zombies if it has to. work with me on this!

so that's a no on the catastrophic flood then. I'm not sure why I thought this would go differently
shall I just take pictures of the wounds while I'm waiting for the building to collapse?
